Lyretail Anthias

I'm thinking about ordering 3 of these but not sure if I should get these or a foxface and butterfly. How many times do you feed your lyretail a day/week?

I added One just one....And within 24 hour's My whole fish selection was gone.

Dang, I heard they were agressive but not that much. Looks lke i'm goning with my other choice.

Well I ordered two new fish from saltwaterfish.com and they will be shipped monday and arrived tuesday. can't wait.

What'd you get?

Didn't mean to hijack . I have had anthias for a few years and I've never had one kill or even seriously hassle another fish of a different genus.

A Longnose butterfly and a Virgate Rabbitfish, can't wait to see them. Hopefully they're not itty bitty.

I have a male and 3 females in my 200 and they get along great with the other residents. Even my little firefish swims with them. Very well behaved if you ask me. Sure you didn't get a Piranha in disguise?? :bigeyes:

I have the same setup... a male and three female lyretails in a 215. Never seen the least bit of aggression towards other non-anthias, but they do squabble amongst themselves frequently.

What other fish did you have?

It took out one of my clown's a Diamond goby and a tang(sailfin)

Edit: and a flame angel

did you see it attack these fish ? I find it hard to believe that a newly added fish would show that much aggression that quickly. how large was the sailfin ? and the anthias. not saying it didn't happen , just seems to me to be just the easy explanation. you added it and then the other fish died.

along with 7 Lyretail anthias, 3 dispars, a resplendent anthias, a couple of potters angels and a few other fish in my 180G.
