M. Setosa care ??'s

Mine gets orange in low light... more that reddish pink in higher light. Guess it's just personal preference as to which you like better. I keep a piece in both areas :D

Mine is about five inches off the bottom of my tank under T5s

Such a great thread. I have been looking to learn more about caring for this coral. I almost lost my frag, but repositioned it after finding this thread. I hope to see some growth in the future. Thank you all for your posts.

Mine turns pink up high and is a nice orange about midway in my tank. Very hardy sps and quick grower. typical monti kind of care I guess.

High, low, lots of flow, less flow--it's a Monti Just keep your parameters stable and your Monti will be happy. Coloring and growth effected by positioning, it's happy spot is a pretty big range

I know it is common but might be one of my favorites. I guess I'm simple. The color can be manipulated under lighting conditions. Under LED High light light pink and low light reflects a very rich vivid pink so I keep it in the lower 2/3rds because of the color. Under T5 and MH it seems to be orange. I cannot get it orange under leds I have tried a few different frags.

fast grower! keep it under control using the shelf method ;)
