Just checking for interest for the MACNA Conference in Atlanta 5-7 September 2008. You can get information at this link http://www.macnaxx.com/catalog.htm

Right now it looks like we can take a van down and share some gas(2 vans if needed). There is a lot going on that weekend, workshops, Speakers, trade show, Banquet at the Georgia Aquarium and raffles. Tickets are available at the above link and you can get a full package price or just trade show price for Saturday and lots of in-between price points.

Hotels are close by, including special pricing for the Westin Peachtree Plaza as the host hotel for this event. It is the tallest hotel in the western hemisphere. the negotiated room rate is $119.00 per night with discounted parking. Everyone that stays in the hotel will be given free internet access from their rooms.

Also, Atlanta Marriott Downtown - Reservations are available via the internet.

Holiday Inn Downtown Atlanta - Reservations for this hotel are only available via phone. Please call (800) 535-0707 to reserve your room.

If you plan to attend and want to ride down and share gas, let us know here. Plans now call for us to leave Friday and return Sunday, exact departure times are not known yet.

Is it safe to assume everything is within walking distance? IE, there's no need for people to drive on their own?

So, if you stay there great. For hotel reservations & tickets to events, that is up to each person to get. I am however, suggesting carpooling to Atlanta to save gas. Of course details will have to be worked out. Right now I'm only trying to gauge interest in going. Hope that answers your question.

WOW, I would LOVE to attend this, but I have to see how my budget and schedule is like.....I wonder what the raffle items are going to be like?????

I know that Melev went to one a few years ago (I think it was in Dallas) and the "big" raffle item was a 400 gallon tank, complete with EVERYTHING..... it only sticks out because apparently the guys wife made him sell it all..
