MACNA XX in Atlanta

Just checking to see if anyone is planning on attending the MACNA conference in Atlanta in September. I am.

I drove down to Atlanta with my wife and kids in April and was pleasantly surprised to find out it is only ~10hours from my house.

I have considered going to MACNA and thought it might be kind of fun to caravan down there with a few guys from C-SEA/CORA if they are going. I have not gone as far as putting in for vacation time or buying tickets yet. Just thinking and calculating costs.

Are you driving or flying John?

10 hours in the car with wife and kids and it's "only" 10 hours away?!?!!?

I am seriously considering going as well. I like the carpool idea. Should make transportation costs pretty reasonable.

Yup got the reservations and the room at the host hotel. From what I heard the host hotel is sold out but they have overflow available nearby. I got a decent deal on airfare out of Canton/Akron. Flying down on Thursday and plan to spend the day at the aquarium. Just found out they are offering a special behind the scenes tour before the banquet on Saturday limited reservations available for the tour.

Carpool/caravan sounds like a great idea considering the inconsistency of the airlines these days.

We are going staying at the Westin Friday and Saturday Bought the MACNA tickets right after the last one. Taking two weeks so will be down there sighting see till the conference then another week just checking out the sites doing some camping etc. Already have a dinner/lunch/breakfast date with Porky and his wife, which ever we can arrange. lol

I am looking forward to it. Airtran and Delta both use Atlanta as a hub, so look for deals through those two companies if you want to fly.
