Macro cant stay alive?

My 10g nano is lit by an 80w PC fixture (40w actinic and 40w white). Has perfect tank params, a thriving peacock mantis, thriving zoos, rics, mushrooms, coraline, and some species of hair algae im not surewhat it is. But any macro that I get, calpura, shaving brush, and I think whats called a Money plant, dies within a week. I'm not quite sure why. Anyone else have issues like ths?

Plant novice here, but ... From what I've observed in my tanks, established hair algae under good light will put up a good fight for nutrients and usually consumes all available nitrates. There simply isn't enough nutrients left to let a new piece of macro establish and maintain itself.

Introduce a small amount of macro and let it grow. Chaeto seems fairly bullet proof, transports well, and seems to acclimate quickly. Maybe a small piece of it would survive long enough to get into the fight.

if you're not doing it already, try dosing some iron... i use Kent's Chelated iron brand... also from my experiences with fuges, it will take a good couple of weeks for the ecosystem to balance itself out after new macro algae are introduced to the system...

as an example, when i first setup a fuge for my tank, the chaeto seemed to not do so well... it kept turning white and cotton candy algae was starting to take over the chaeto... also, the problem algae in the main tank didn't disappear over night after the fuge/chaeto addition... it took almost 2 months for the whole system to balance itself out and the chaeto to start thriving...

k, thanks for the advice. Ive noticed some bubble algae popping up on my rocks too. Maybe its just the macro ive been buying, not sure. Im gonna order a mass of it and throw it in the sump once i get that set up to see how it does. Does macro release ammonia when it dies, like fish do?

yes it can release absorbed nutrients when dieing thats why its good to take alittle out as it grows to incourage new growth
and remove the absorbed crud.
