Macro ID please

Got my first piece of Macro for my up coming Macro & Seagrass tank. However, I've no idea what it is A buddy got it for me from MACNA over the weekend.
Any additional advice would be great. Does it attach to rock, sand? Will it reattach?

Codium? Very interesting looking.

Yep codium, nice piece. You could try to wedge it between a couple rocks or a loose rubberband. Possibly even super glue. I belive codium is a calcearous algae so you'll need to monitor and dose the same as you would for corals.

Does anyone know how much height I should give it? It's about 6-8" now. Is that it's limit or could it grow to be 20" etc?

Also, I read in another thread that you can use a needle and thread to spear it, then tie it down to the rock. Does anyone know if this will work or would I be just risking splitting the end?
