Macro of Monti

Just playing with my new camera and thought I would share this macro shot. Looks like I may need supplemental lighting for better resolution. This is a new Montipora sp.that I have had for about 6 months or so. I would have never noticed the polyps turnig green in the center if I had not shot under magnification. They are in the top right of the photo.

Good specimen! Yes, more lighting would be helpful. Did you fiddle with the white balance before shooting?

No I actually have my camera set at auto white balance. I shoot in RAW format and use ACR with CS3. In ACR if the WB needs tweaking it's very easy and the results are like having the camera set properly to begin with. Since I used no flash the color you see is what it looked like under my tanks lights.
