macroalgae ID question

I recently acquired this, the place I bought it from said it came in as a hitchhiker and they couldn't identify it. It basically has the appearance of pipe cleaners all attached to one rhizome. Does anyone know what it may be?

Caulerpa verticillata maybe? Compare to the pic in this link.

Definitely looks like C. verticillata.

I thought maybe it was a species of caulerpa but wasn't quite sure, but that definitely looks like it. Thanks for the ID
