I just ordered these 2 Macroalgaes from LAreefs. One of them is "Blue Scroll Macroalgae" and the other one is "Rare Red Branching Macro Algae". Can anyone tell me what these are excatly and what are they good for water quality.

Those are display macro, they don't grow very fast (maybe the scroll algae do). If you want macros just for water quality, try chaeto or ulva.

Yeah i kinda figured they are but wanted to get some more information about them. Since chaeto is kinda ugly for DT (I dont have refugium) i might go with ulva and ofcourse what i already have in my tank.

The blue scroll is Padina Sp. and the other one I have no clue. I bought a frag of it from LA Reefs a year or so ago and it has barely grown. The Padina I bought grew decent but didnt last long after my Moorish Idol found it. If you want a good looking macro for nutrient export I suggest trying the varies different varieties of Gracilaria.

The padina is quite nice, once established in your tank it can grow pretty good. I thought mine was dead then it showed up on my koralia and has been doing good.

Its under pretty low light, at the bottom of the tank (20" deep under 4 bulb T5 light) and being overhung a bit by other macros.
