Macropharyngodon bipartitus

I have the chance of a harem of 3-5 (1-2inch in size) of these beautiful fish, I have a 60" x 24" x 30" aquarium but wondered if they would need a fine sand bed as currently I have crushed coral? I could make a fine sand bed in one area of the tank but would they go to it.

Only other wrasse I have is a male Macropharyngodon meleagris (approx 4 inches) will they be compatible?

Thx
Nick

IMO they should be compatable if all the Bipartus are female and because of their size compared to the male Meleagris. The male may bicker alittle to show dominance or ignore them because they are half his size...I would use an acclimation box and use a finer grain sandbed because of their size. Also they may not turn male with the larger Meleagris male present...all my different species of Leopards are staying female because I have a dominant male Ornatus leopard.
