Maculiceps or Fowleri or pass

Let me start with my tank. I have just upgraded in the past year to a 84" x 36" x 24" display believe its 315 gals.
My current stock is:
Pair of Occ. clowns
Small Flame Angel(2")
Juvenile Regal Angel(2")
Hippo Tang ( 3")
Powder Brown Tang (3 1/2")
Majestic Angel ( 2 1/2")
Female Maldives Squami Anthias

Only other Tang I plan to add is a Leutenant Tang.

Both the Maculiceps and Fowler get extremely large. This scares me a little. Will they be able to be housed in a tank this size for the duration? And is it worth it in the eyes of people with experience sacrificing the space for such a
fish. If it is, then which fish would you go with?

Fowlers and Maculiceps probably need a 11-12 foot tank long term. Also when they get huge they are almost impossible to rehome due to the amount of food they consume/waste they produce. I would try a smaller tang.

Personally, Fowleri tangs are by far my favorite tang out there. Gentle giants and gorgeous (especially once they get large). 1 Vote for fowleri :bum:

I have a fowleri in a 8' 240g. I struggled with the decision to get this fish for a while, due to how large they get. He's grown to about 9 or 10 inches, and slowed. He really is a gentle giant... no aggression issues at all. I can't comment on "long term" issues, but so far so good. :)

Such a cool looking fish. I'm gonna hold off for a while till I make my decision. Thanks for the replies and more are definitely welcome.

I have the same. Very docile. Little to no aggression. Mine stopped growing for the last 2 years at 12 inches

They both get 40-45cm (15-17in) in the wild, but in aquariums the largest I saw was about 12-13in in a public aquarium. But I don't know much about them, I've heard they're big and produce lots of waste, but are quite peaceful.

Great shot! I love how much they can change colors.... I never seem to have the camera handy though :(

Here's mine in a "light" phase....
