Ok so I have had a madarin goby for about 3 weeks now and for the past 3 days he has been MIA... Cant find him. I have looked for him in the morning, afternoon and evenings and nothing. I'm about to take all the rocks out to see if I can find him. My 2 clowns and my powder brown are still ok so I dont understand. Its not like anything else has died. SUggestions please!!!

do you have a lid on your tank? I had a green spotted mandarin for a while but my tank does not have a lid...he ended up trying to escape to the ocean, did not work out too well for him as he died on the floor of my bedroom.

I would not tear your tank apart to look for him. was he eating well while you had him? They are a delicate fish that does not often take prepared foods.

hard to see but do you have an overflow box in the rear center of your tank...if so, check that...if not, be patient and you find out, for better or worse, soon enough...

As the periphyton got thicker and thicker on my rocks, and thus grew more and more pods (especially under/behind the rocks), my mandarin would spend almost all his time under/behind the rock where there are the most pods. Maybe that's your case if your rocks have good periphyton.

I checked the overflow box, the line going to the sump and the sock and no mandarin. I was not feeding him since I have a good pod population and he was always eating from the rocks and the sand. I even looked under the tank to see if I saw any dark spots between the sand.

I'll sometimes go over a month without seeing mine in my 400. Granted, that's a lot bigger than your 75, but sometimes they just spend a lot of time in the rockwork.
