I was on vacation in the Osaka area last week and had time to stop by Blue Harbor. Thought I'd share some pics with you fish nerds.
What an amazing fish store. It's probably about 1,000 sf, so it's tiny, but they utilize every inch of space. When you walk in, you're first hit with their SPS tank, which were all healthy colonies. Further in was an LPS tank with a great selection of Scolys.
In the back of the store were the fishes. It's unreal to see all the rare fish you read about in person all in one location. Baby interruptus (half a dozen at least), bandits, blue lines and a bunch of other angels. Rhomboids and other beautiful wrasses I can't remember.
Upstairs they had a tank in the corner, which housed these two fish mentioned at reef builders.com - prognathodes guyanensis and bodianus masudai. Super cool to see them in person.
We asked the woman working there if we could take pictures of the livestock but she said no. She only allowed full store shots, so, out of respect to them, I didn't take any livestock photos. She did give us a Blue Harbor calendar as a gift, which she said was an extremely rare species in the US!
