Mag 9.5 overheating water

I'm running a mag 9.5 as a transfer pump for my mixing station. I thought my heater was acting up, turns out the pump is heating the water to about 89 degrees with out any heater. I run it externally with 3/4" pvc, I pump from the bottom of the tank to the top for mixing , about 3' high. My mixing tank is 30 gal. I took the pump apart and the impeller looks good, seems free. Just wondering if anyone has had the same thing happen.

I use a mag 12 and a mag 24 with no issues like this at all .Does the pump itself get HOT.... My mag 24 (spare return pump) is external on my display with 16 feet of head height and its running fine. thou LOUD.. Replacement Return pump to come very soon (Fingers Crossed) Reflo hammerhead .

tired of toy pumps......
My mag 12 is way old 15 years at least

Mags are known for putting heat into the water.
3/4" pipe is small for most mags, any way to just drop it in the tank & see if that helps?

I could try that...I'll remove the pipes and just let it run overnight in the barrel. If it doesnt get the water hot then i will try 1'' plumbing.
Thanks

30 gallons + Mag9.5 = 89 degree water overnight... sounds about right. Mags are (very reliable) old tech but that comes at a cost.

Is the room air conditioned? A buddy had something like this happen with a reef octopus pump that was submerged in his mixing can but it was in his garage during the summer.
