Mag Flake and Dow Flake in No. California?

Since there isn't much call for de-icing products on the west coast, I've had a lot of "what's that again?" and "never heard of it" and "Huh?" when asking for mag and dow flake.

Does anyone have local sources around the Monterey Bay area or the San Francisco Bay area for either of these things? The chemical is cheap but shipping - WHEW!

I don't know of any. Maybe in the mountains? The MAG flake is also used to control dust in horse arenas, so maybe try equestrian supply places.

FWIW,

I ordered mine from Harvey Salt. Yes, the shipping boosts the price but I figure it is pretty much a one time deal. I should be set for the next 20 years or so
If you split it with someone it's not to bad. There must be some around if not in Ca, than the surrounding states.
