mag. flakes

magnesium in my tank is a bit low and was thinking of adding mag flakes to my calcium reactor....is this a good idea ...the mag flakes are is in a 50 pound bags and is from the dead sea area

I don't think that's a good idea, it will dissolve right away and precipitate or something else undesirable.

Try dolomite if you want the reactor to take care of mg.

You want about 10% of the media to be dolomite.
