Maggie muffler

I was wonder if any one has used the maggie muffler and what they thought of it? Or if they think the durso would be better? And if they have the maggie how big across is the unit at its widest point. I have two over flow holes side by side and want to see if they would fit next to each other or if i would end up having to do the durso? Thanks

I have 2 running in different overflows. They are fairly large...I'll get you dimensions in a few minutes. I doubt you'll be able to run them side by side unless you have a lot of space available.

With that said, I love mine. I did have to put silicone air line in the holes to quite it down even more. I believe most people do this.

awesome thanks Bill! Do you put the tube all the way down into the water and how long do you leave it out of the top? I noticed people were doing this on the durso also

I have mine inside and out about an inch each. They aren't in the water in mine. I used silicone air tubing...soft and spongy like material. Seems to keep the noise down to virtually nothing. I did however have to tape the hole of one of the four tubes to stop it from surging. Think its more trial and error though. You'll just have to try and go from there. Hope I helped...

I had one in the past on my old tank and perhaps it was "User Error" but my Maggie Muffler was pretty loud...

Since then I have two new setups with dual Durso's and I absolutely love how quiet my tanks are.

I ran durso on my old setup and worked very well too. With most things, it just takes adjusting and possibly modifying it some to get it right. For some reason the manufacturer isn't looking at what people are doing and making changes to correct it.

I use two maggies and people always comment on how quiet my tank is. I don't hear the overflows at all.

I had two dursos on my 120 and those worked well too.
