Magnesium Chloride/Magnesium Sulfate

are they the same?
i've used both of these before for raising Magnesium, but i've been told that you only need one or the other to do this.

Here are a couple of RHF articles on the subject. You can use one or the other, but a mixture of both is best. You can use a 10:1 Magnesium Chloride/Magnesium Sulfate mix, or if you supplement with DIY 2 part, a 5:3 Magnesium Chloride/Magnesium Sulfate mix.

The idea is to dose the magnesium without altering the ratio of chloride to sulfate from natural seawater values of approximately 10 chloride to 1 sulfate. Hence the 10:1 magnesium chloride to magnesium sulfate mixture. However, if you are dosing calcium chloride for calcium supplementation as per two part, a 5 to 3 ratio tends to account for the extra chloride you already dosed as calcium chloride.
