I have a low magnesium issue, I have read the Randy's ab part and have looked at the dose needed.. just looking for what brand of magnesium chloride to buy ant to see about how to dose to get my reef tank where it needs to be. Then possibly how to prepare the new water for water changes. Thank u for any input

This is what I use for adjustment.

Here’s a Calculator to determine how much you need.

This is what I use to maintain Mg levels.

Yes, you can DIY with Epsom salts (MgSO4) and magnesium Chloride (MgCl) but, IMO it’s easier just to but it premixed.

Ok.. I'll look into that.. it says using 30 oz to get my levels correct.. I measure 1065... looking to get to 1285.. I have well water and use a rodi water from it... it takes my mag to 1065 tight out of fresh mix.. so with that being said.. I need to dose the 100 gallon tank with a 25 gallon sump water..do I take the 30 oz and spread it over a week till levels are good? Then I can just mix as needed for my water changes.. correct?

First, what kind to test kit are you using? What type of salt are you using? That seems a little low for freshly mixed SW. makes me wonder if you have an off batch of salt or your test kit is off. You might want to test with a second kit to verify your kit is accurate.

When I adjust Mg, I just dump a little in every hour or so over the course of a day.

For Ca and especially for Alk, you need to dose slower.
