Magnet holders for power heads

Anyone have any for sale, or DIY anything that has worked for you? I'm tired of the suction cup thing and still have 2 nice circulating pumps that are in great shape but would like to attach w/ magenets. Thanks for any info.

I've recently DIY'd a sweet magnet mount. MUCH more low profile than the name brand stuff. I don't trust suction cups alone. Gaussboys dot com has 60lb round epoxy covered jobs that are plenty strong. The 80lb versions are even overkill but I don't know your application. In my case I put a fresh coat of epoxy on the one I put in the tank cuz their coat scratched.

CAREFUL WHEN YOU PLACE ON TANK TO SLIDE MAGNET IN PLACE.

Shattered glass sucks.

How did you attach the magnet to the powerhead? Silicone? What kind of epoxy did you put on as an extra coating? Saw the site......much more affordable.

I modded a 'Sure Flow' maxi-jet mount and just used a two-part epoxy from the hardware store to both seal magnet and join it to mount. You could superglue it to the powerhead, but I wanted to keep the swivel feature. Swivel. I also modded a Triton Aquatics Gulf Stream II mount. Since it's made of poly, I used ICgel. Worked fine. I need to go back and seal that magnet though.

So far, so good. But mine aren't mounted right on the pump. I thought about doing that, but wanted to control direction of flow...

Cruddy cell phone camera's all I got right now. After you place your PH, you slide the 2nd magnet up the glass on the outside.
