Magnet Question

I have a quick question in relation to the Tunze magnets. I have a 6080 holding up my 6100. After two days of use one of the plastic covers, one on each side of the magnet face, on the magnet came loose and fell off into my tank. I was able to recover the plastic and have it should I need to reattach it.

My question is, are these plastic plates protecting the tank from the magnet or are they simply cosmetic? If it needs to be reattached, what should I use?

They are only cosmetic, plastic model cement will work, that is essentially what we use, if you need I can send you a tube of Tangit.

Roger - Thaks for the response. If it is only there for looks and is not holding anything from entering the system, I will leave it as it. I already have correline accumulating.
