was curious when i read sanjays report the magnetic ballast had more par then the icecap on the 250 watt single ended xm 20k

also one other question how many people have thier halides setup on a different timers as far as left to right so to speak

like the left one on at 10 am and the right one coming on at noon?

From IceCap:
Electronic ballasts, like the ones IceCap distributes start lamps with less of a jolt, run them at high frequency and detect end of lamp life and don't waste electricity or beat up a ballast trying to light a dead lamp. The way they're started and run increases lamp life by 25% or more. The wattage saved results in less ballast heat and no noise. Ballasts can also be placed farther away as low starting voltage can travel longer w/o losing it's power to start the lamp. Finally, say good bye to flickering.

Whatever we lose in initial output is more than made up with the average output over 18 - 24 months of lamp use.

electronics ballasts run a lot cooler and are smaller then magnetic ballasts. I have 3 ice cap mh ballasts and really like them.

My mh's come on in different stages like you said, first one comes on, hour later next one comes on, hour later last one comes on, they turn off at diff stages too
