Magnets

Rodger,
Quick question, can you put the larger magnet on any glass thickness? I not sure what my glass thickness was so I ordered the larger magnet just in case. I have a 75-gallon oceanic glass tank.

Thanks,

Dave

Just be very careful with it, the small one is fine for a pretty big tank, even most tanks up to 180 gallons. It is OK but don't ever slam them together they could crack the glass.

I cut a piece of micron filter pad (the really thin stuff that looks like a sheet) and glued it to the magnets with some super glue gel, both inside and out, to keep them directly off the glass. I have a 6'x2'x2' tank which is 1/2" or 5/8" glass (I forget). Anyways, I'm using the bigger magnets. Do you think this is an issue Roger? Should I take the filter pad off?

Here's a link to the filter pad I used ... it's not the same brand, but it's the stuff:

It is ok but I don't see a reason to do this. I would just use the rubber feet it came with and be careful installing them.

Thanks! I figured it was a bit of overkill; I just felt better not having the magnets on the glass. :)

Thanks Roger!
