I would say yes, not completely safe in a mixed reef but in a SPS tank you should be good.

I had one in my reef for about 6 months, never touched anything ( SPS,LPS,clams) but great at eating any king of algae.

Had one devour a couple hundred bucks of blue hornet and AOG zoas, he never touched SPS.

Foxface are vegetarians just like tangs, you should be fine but each fish varies

Not exactly. Foxfaces and tangs are algae-oriented omnivores. By that I mean that they will eat meaty foods and pellets along with algae. You occasionally hear about a foxface that nips corals, but it's usually zoanthids or LPS. Mine has never touched any corals as far as I've seen.
