Magnificent (Ritteri) Anemone Under LED's

One of my livestock goals has always been to have a magnificent (Ritteri) anemone in my tank. I would never risk an animal in conditions that aren't ideal. That being said....

What do you guys/gals think about having a Magnificent under LED lights?

Does anyone currently have a magnificent under LED's and would like to comment?

I have 2 Kessil A350W and all of my parameter are perfect, the only thing that I'm hesitant on are my lights.

This is an open discussion on Magnificent Anemones and keeping them under LED lights compared to MH or T5s. Share pics, ask questions, fire away :uzi:

My goal was and still is to have a mag/sps tank as well. I have a 120 with a medium bioload (5 chromis, 1 bicolor blenny, 1 flasher wrasse, and 2 blackfoot clowns) as well as a couple of maxima clams and some sps. I am currently running 2 apollo reef leds with some ecoxotic stunner strips in magenta and royal blue. I have just purchased my second mag which is in darn near perfect health with no deflation cycle, a super tight mouth, and is extremely sticky. My first mag was brought home in no such condition. While it was inflated at the LFS, the mouth was swollen and slightly open so I took a shot and ultimately failed. The reason I am posting all of this info was because I too was very concerned about LED lighting with a mag. My first mag stayed at the top near the light for about 1 month, then completely shyed away under some rock work. This, along with a constant inflation/deflation cycle convinced me that the end was coming. This new mag, so far, is absolutely soaking it up and while it is still far too early to tell if this will be a success story, I like my chances. I know there are others keeping them under LEDS, I just don't know if there are any long term success stories. Hopefully, some guys/gals will chime in and give us some good news. Either way, I will be documenting my success/failure as I go. Good Luck!!

I have been keeping H. Magnifica anemones under LED lighting for about 6 months and have not seen any negative side affects. I have one that has been with me the whole time, and one that I kept until a month ago. I sold it to a fellow reefer and it is doing well for him too. I also have a new one, and although it's only been a week, it seems to be doing well like the others. My lighting isn't name brand, but it is equivalent to a 250w MH and I have 3 over the Mags.
