Magnum 350 - Proper Use

In a 55 FOWL, I currently run carbon (all the time) in the media basket along with the blue filter sleeve as well. I've taken out my bio-wheels from the Pro 60 portion of the filter, but I still run water through there just for more surface agitation.

I'll be adding a skimmer soon, but any comments on a better way to run the Magnum for this instance?

Sounds fine to me, especially the skimmer addition. The only thing I would like to add is to be sure to clean/replace the sleeve often (try to clean at least once a week). This helps cut down on algae, etc. indirectly by limiting decay.

If you're planning on running filter all the time then replace carbon every 2 weeks.

Went i had mine on my 46 gal i just used it for extra waterflow with nothing in it, but for emergencys i would put carbon ect in there.

it's a good canister, i used it 4 carbon

Sounds fine to me also. I use mine the same way. Carbon 24/7
