Majano and Apistasia

I introduced a rock that had one medium sized majano and one tiny apistasia into my tank. Since then I have taken out the rock and broke off two chunks of the rock to remove both of the anemones. Since I introduced both of them into my tank, will I be expecting more of them to pop up all over my tank?

Do you really like the rock?I have found a way to get rid of these anemones without using chemicals. It just takes a lot of waiting. Just put this rock with aptasia and majano in a rubbermaid container filled with salt water. Make sure there is a power head in there too, so your live rock won't turn into dead rock. Leave that rock in the container for a few months. They will just starve to death.

Oh thats different...you'll have to use chemicals or their natural predators to get rid of them. I don't know if their is a natural preditor for majanos though.

Instead of breaking up your rock. Next time, consider taking a screwdriver and whittle out a small piece of the rock from beneath their foot. It'll remove them completely. Alternatively, inject kalk into the foot and then gently scrape them off once the foot releases. If you're a pyro, take a lighter to them and nuke em'. They won't come back.

If they didn't move I wouldn't worry too much about them sprouting up everywhere.. my father has had 4 on a rock and they never moved and never spread, he's had the rock over 2 years now.

I had a couple on one rock and they overtook my tank over time, because they moved. (I believe that was the cause of the spreading)
