Majano removal

I use Kalk paste in a syringe. Just drop a couple of drops of Kalk Paste into the center and they are gone in 48 hours. A little more challenging when the are growing from the underside of the rock or in a high flow area.

I do the same as Dave B. It's much easier if you can turn off all flow and let them take in the Kalk. So far pretty good success and I have a lot of them.

One you have majanos, they can be very difficult to completely eradicate. Control, yes; eliminate, probably not. Trick is to kill them as soon as you see that and not let them proliferate. Biological controls are simply that. Remove the control and guess what happens.

There's no way to get my rock out without a total do-over, so I have been smothering any pest anemone with kalk paste. I'll keep doing that until I get fish and a bristle tail file is at the top of the list.

The kalk paste seems 100% effective but leaves quite a white skid mark. After a week or two, I scrub at it with a tooth brush and it's almost all gone. I'll put up with having to scrub at the skid mark because the paste is easy, effective and inexpensive.
