So I really really want this majestic angle at my LFS. Is it going to eat my corals? My giant encrusting sponge is going to keep it busy for a while but who is next? Here is a link to my tank thread for the likley canidates. http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=19507. On some sites it says sometimes reef safe??? I think I know the consences but hoping someone will talk me into it. He is around 5-6" fat and healthy. He came from a customers tank so is well aclimated to captivity.

i would assume the worst with angels and say that it will go after whatever you have. i bought many flameback angelfish and most websites say that they wont go after much or anything.. but those angelfish gave me the most problems...

I have a majestic angel from DD and so far so good. (6 weeks or so) I am SPS-centric and he hasn't done more than take a taste. He did gnaw the edge off a small chalice I have, it's gonna have to find a new home where it can recover. Hasn't touched any of my favia brains, I am prepared to pull them if he does. He does eat like a pig, more food for a fish of that size than I've seen, loads of PE mysis and blackworms.
My feeling is that many people have had luck with them. Anecdotal evidence indicates that Emperors are more likely to develop a sudden taste for coral, especially as they mature.
Still, I'm sure somewhere there's a majestic that eats every coral it can get its mouth on. Definitely a case of YMMV!!!
