Hey guys,
My gbta split some time last year with the bigger part dying but left a small one in its place. it seems healthy, moving around for periods of time and I occasionaly feed him pieces of silverbacks. He is still very small and doesn't seem to grow much so what is a true method to help him get some bulk? Is it just a matter of feeding him more often or will that overload his system?

Since it is a small one I would squirt some thawed mysis shrimp on it every other day to get it to grow quickly. Sometimes I will soak the mysis in a little Selcon too.

Sounds like the "parent" split out of stress, and that the clone is still stressed. It would help to know the conditions in your tank. Feeding may not be your biggest problem.

Tank size, lighting, flow, other occupants, etc.

^^^too funny

yea, I would hold off on the silverSIDES and start feeding mysis soaked in selcon. I had a small nem that would spit out the silversides and then I started feeding mysis and could finally digest the smaller pieces

Yeah my bad silverSIDES! lol the original did split as a result of the big electical outage in Ohio last year. Tank went cold and lost a few things. I will try the mysis shrimp to see if that helps
