Make sure to paint the inside of your canopy.

I actually stained the inside of mine and then put on 3 coats of polyurethane. I thaught this would be plenty water resistant and I wasn't worried about having it white because the T5 TEK reflectors aim all of the light down. Well the poly. is not water resistant enough because my solid oak door started to warp pretty bad. I have since painted the canopy white with some good outdoor acrylic latex paint. I just don't want anyone else to make the same mistake.

Thanks. I was building my own stand/canopy and was hoping to get a good bit finished today. All I planned on doing was poly on the canopy and paint the inside of the stand (Poly all around the outsides). Guess i'll have to rethink that now.

I did my 29 and 65 with stain and poly and noticed after 6 mths the saltwater had some effect on the urethane. I saw and read all the posts on painting them so I decided to try that this time. On my 90 I just finished I used 2 coats of primer and then 2 coats of marine white enamel so we will see how that holds up. Pic below shows it done in the stand and canopy
