Make plans to deal with power outages from summer storms now. I was just reminded the hard way.
We just had a 40 hour power outage over the weekend. In the past, our outages haven't lasted more than an hour or two or three. As a result, I had been thinking about but not put in place a battery-operated backup system. Unfortunately, we had an extended outage just after I left Friday evening and the tank went 10 hours without power before I got someone to put my battery-powered air pump on, plus buy a second one.
I lost 4 fish -moorish idol, yln, regal angel, and flame angel. The others survived, including 4 butterflyfish (Aus cbb, saddleback, falcula and ulietensis), plus a pbt. Time will tell if there is any lasting damage to one or more of them but they appear fine now.
Don't wait to make plans.
