making a maco tank planning stage

So I got this 30g sitting around and thought I would tie it into the sump for my 180. I figured I would use the HOB overflow to plumb to the sump and return back off my return pump.

The only experience I have with macro is with cheato in my sump. Can I get some suggestions for some macro types to use or maybe some mangoves. Thanks for the input.
