making a remote dsb

im thinking of making one in a 5 gallon bucket

looking for thoughts on how exactly to get one to work

i am about to do this in my sump room - will use an old 6ft tank and take 50% of my tanks overflow into it, it will flow through and overflow out the other end into the main sump where it will join the other 50%........very cheap and easy with a 2nd hand tank costing about $50 + sand

I pull water out of my fuge with a minijet which runs into an old salt bucket through a bulkhead. BUY THE BULKHEAD FOR THE INFLOW AND OUTFLOW ON THE BUCKET I ruined two bucket and I don't know how much pvc and connectors before going the proper route.

Also, I have 3/8" tubing going in and 1/2 inch going out. I think that works wonders as well.
