Making AstroTurf safe

I want to start breeding anenomes. I am looking to setup A tank just for the. And have read to line it with AstroTurf so it is easy to remove the nem.

Is there anything I have to do to treat the AstroTurf to make it safe?

There is astro turf sold without adhesive. From what I am reading people just plop it in the tank, just want to make sure

Most turf is fabricated just as carpeting is fabricated. There is a backing in which the turf fibers are implanted or sewn into. That assembly then gets adhered to a structural backing. Quite a few of the newer turfs are NEEDS certified, but not sure that certification means anything to our reef tanks :) The only thing I would suggest is pick up a sample and leave it in seawater with a powerhead for a few days. Then test the water. Obviously chemical impurities imparted to the water will not be revealed unless you send the sample out to a lab.

The only other item that I have seen at the wholesalers was a cotton cloth . That was lining the tank. Also the green astro turf but never acquired where it was purchased.
