Making Live Rock

If you all want to get together and make some "live" rock, we can do it at my house Saturday July 7th 1:00pm. If Sunday would work better, we can do it then too.
I'm located at 1325 S. National about 3 blocks south of MSU.

I'll provide Papa John's pizza, soda, cups, and ice. You'll need to bring some Rubbermaid type plastic containers and any other drinks or foods that you might want. Some latex gloves are also recommended. The containers can be anything from shoebox sized to several feet long depending on how much rock you want to make and what size you want to make it. We'll use Portland Cement as our main ingredient, so if you want to make a lot of rock, it will be real heavy if you only use large containers.

john, this sounds like a great idea.

let me know what i need to bring, if possible id like to make a bunch. i can get a billion boxes from work.

were you wanting it to cure at your place or have us take it home? cause i dont have any way to move it, no truck, and ill be damned if i haul cement in the bmw

lol, no crete in the bimmer? Seriously though... thats what the rubbermaid tubs are for,.... Cant wait to see everyone again!

if i get to it, i'll take a pic of my needle-eye i made at the 1st SEAS liverock making event. Its completely covered in purple and has (before the storm) had 100s of zoanthids covering the upper 3/4 of it...

i'd like to bring in some macaroni noodles this time. someone at the last meeting suggested it - this would make nice little nooks and provide a more rough (natural looking ) texture on the surface of the LR.

i'm looking forward to the Papa John's also (the pizza that is!)
:bum:

They have to be plastic boxes though. They are going to contain damp sand.

I don't have room at my house to cure the rock. My basement is a wreck. (need to have a yard sale)

and what do i need to bring besides boxes?
You need plastic rubbermaid-type boxes. Latex gloves are good to have.

I'll put a white box out by the curb in front of my house with the address on it to make it easier for everyone to find. The driveway is kind of narrow and can fit several cars, but there is also a carport around back with plenty of parking area (you'll have to go around the block to get to it).

Looks like the wife and in-laws may be abducting me and the daughter for the afternoon. I hope everything goes well - and I apologize for the short notice. I hope you all make some great chunks of LR.
