Dont listen to him lol i guess it woudl work, but would look very awkward. Any ways what kind of corals would you like to keep? this is the big question. If you want to have SPS corals then go with a Metal Halide light, or A high wattage T-5 light with actinics. ( I would go for metal halide ) If you want soft corals and or gorgonians, go with a lower output T-5 light or a VHO (i wouldnt recomend VHO).

for a fivr gallon you can pretty much grow anything with VHO's or T5's and they come in convenient sizes for those tanks. I would try that. Especially if you go for the 5 gal, you should have plenty of light from a compact

i didnt know T5 were in small lengths for small tanks, im getting T5 for my 29 eventually, tony if you want i can help you turnthe 5 gal acrylic into a sump, its pretty easy, we could dril lthe 10, no problem, and if it breaks its only 10 bucks, i can get a dremel for ma guy in the club, or i can haev a tank drilled for you, the nall yu need is a mag 5 or suttin, talk to me in school monday

I have the 96 watt Coralife Quad PC over my 10 gallon. It's a great light. You can even grow some varieties of SPS with it.

I would go with the sunpod for a 10 gal or the current usa orbit for PC. I don't really have anything agenst the 96watt quad, but the other lights are better and look better (i have compared photos and the orbit looks way better, color wise plus you can have dawn/duck cycles and moonlights) The sunpod is a metal halide so you could keep pretty much anything you want, SPS, clams ect..They also have moonlights.
