Mako's New Frag Addition photos to Newer Tank

Mako Shark II

Fish are Friends not Food
Okay, Richard is right and I'm remiss in getting these out there, but I couldn’t bring myself to posting MY shots on HIS thread, and embracing myself against his (better) gorgeous pictures with correct, adjusted lighting.

So, here are some close-ups of my new 120 residents, which I dedicated on 8/8/08. (Close enough. I liked that date and made it “Official”.)

44 â€"œ Inspector Clouseau (-esc) Blue Tuxedo Urchin (in disguise!) He’s stealthy, so you can’t really see him! He’s hiding with Zoa’s, a snail, some paly’s and a Toothpick, adorning him! All toys HE picked up himself for camouflage.

59 â€"œ Best shot ever (!) of my very shy & very FAST Blue Regal Tang. (“Dory” is very shy! She “Just keeps swimming, just keeps swimming….”)

89 â€"œ Note the Goofball Urchin, defending the GBTA, with this Zoo Shield & Toothpick Sword!! He’s very brave.

PHEW! There!

Okay, so HOW do I filter out the Blue saturation? I shot these under both the T5 Actinics & 20K MH’s (Ful Daylight cycle).

:p

First thing you must do is thin out some of those mushrooms "especially the blue ones. That would help tremendously!!

And besides You certainly do not want those to take over and cover those beautiful new and very "high end acans and SPS you bought" we know you do not want those destroyed by those "lowly ole mushrooms..

Oh and by the way I would be more thatn happy to take some of that wonderfull ( I mean dreaded) collection of different mushrooms off your hands.

Looks really good Marty, and seriously when you do decide to clean out some of those mushrooms, I will be glad to help you thin them out!!!

Thanks Guys!

In actual fact, those red & "blue" Shroomies are really Green (bright green under just the actinics), but the (20K MH Bluish) light is playing havoc on these shots.

But you're point is well taken.

I have trimmed some back already, especially away from the Blue Digitalia (not shown here). And the Acans aren't encumbered....yet, but I will bring some frag$ if folks would like to a meeting. They are pretty dense!

Thanks Vic!

Well.... the "Date" is mis-leading.

This latest build, actually represents all the "goes-in-to" from:
1) an existing 20 gallon Nano, (My fish, rock & corals), plus
2) an adddiitonal 36#'s of aged LR (Friedrice), plus
3) an additional 145#'s of very encru$ted LR from another 150 from a friend who existied the hobby, including some of his fish. (Thank you Tom!)

Even the Water itself was saved and roughly 75% of that was
re-used initially.

So in actual fact, the ONLY thing "New" about this tank, IS the Tank itself, the Skimmer, the Chiller, the Lights, canopy, stand, etc. etc. Ya know: Hardware.

....add now the "new" Frags.

All the other Live stock, was established previously.

Looks really good and I feel ya' on that blue hue ..I can never get a good picture either without everything being way too blue. If I use a flash it takes away the hue but then the shot looks too harsh...I always blamed it on my cheap camera...and my 20K MH Lights...

I'll post the entire build at some later point, because the cabinetry was pretty neat to build and there are a lot of pictures to filter through and post, but for now, here are the preliminaries:

120 Gallon reef-ready, w/ Closed Loop jets (front):

Final Installation. (Note the (3) Lines going through the wall, to the Sump Closet: Main Drain, Return Line and Closed Loop waste line (to pump changed water off.)

Thanks for asking & your help again Richard.

Man that really really looks nice. With it in the closet I bet it is super quiet as well. Good job.
