Malaysian Trumpet Snails

I believe the Malaysian Trumpet Snail population in my freshwater tank survived the transition to saltwater. I saw one today on a rock. My tank has now been salty for two months now. Could they have survived and aclimated to saltwater? Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks

I'm not altogether sure that they cannot survive saltwater, but I don't think it's very likely. Could it be some type of hitchhiker snail that came with live rock or live sand? There are plenty of marine snails which are similar in shape to the Malaysian trumpet snails.

THat would not be posible. I have no live rock and my sand is sterile. The snails were in there when it was fresh water. When I introduced salt into the tank - I saw the MTS slowly but surely dying off. But, a few months later, I see what I beleive has to be an MTS snail. I have bought only fish for my tank so I don't beleive any marine snail eggs could have hitched hiked on them.
