Male and Female Dragonets automatically get along?

If I buy a Male and a Female Dragonet from BZ will they automatically get along and some day possibly pair up? Or just because there is one of each sex doesn't mean they will still get along?

Also for a slow moving fish like a dragonet will the flow of a couple of MP40's in a 180 be too much for them?

Can't count on them getting along just because they are male and female -- if that was the case I wouldn't be divorced.

I hear ya, I was thinking the same thing. I wonder what my odds are considering this is like the situation where they are the last two on earth. Will they get together for lack of options Or possibly fight to the death cuz its worth living if that’s the case.

I paired my mandarins esentially the same way. We had a female for a while and just added a male. It took a while before they got together and the male still chased the female and nipped her tail but they spawn together now. I had them in a 30g with a mp20 and a 45g with an mp20 and they were fine.

Mandarins don't naturally live in male/female pairs, and only come together to spawn. Your chances of success are best if you keep them really well fed, because if there is a lack of food they will see each other as competition.
