Male / Female Mandarin compatibility?

I've got a male living in my 75 for the last 3 years now. Refugium pumping pods feeding him with no issues. He's happy and fat.

I've got a female in my 55 that I'm planning on breaking down. Can I move the female in with the male or is it going to be the war of the roses?

i never tried but i have heard that as long as they are the opposite sex they will be just fine. good luck!

My experience was different. I've lost two females to the resident male (yes, the were definitely females). I don't know if this is normal. Perhaps they need to be added at the same time, but I don't know. I'd be curious to hear any one else's experience. Maybe I just have an aggressive male.

If you put them in together, it usually (but not always) works. If one has established territory, it is usually much less likely.

added a male with my female in an established 125 and paired up right away.

I added a male to my female in a 40g and they also paired up
