Male or Female Problem

Im having a problem with my clown. I had two when i started my tank and they started getting to the point where one seemed like one was begining to turn female but then one of the clowns died and they sizes werent diffrent enough to tell which died. My question is can i get another clown? What if the one alive is the male?

wait a while, and let the lone clown grow untill you are sure its a female, and then add e new one that is small enough to ensure that its male.

if the one alive is the male then if you added another juvi then they would fight to see who was more dominant to become the female. so you couldnt go wrong here either. but the above method would be safer

if you add a new juvi just be sure he is smaller and you will be fine. one you have now if not already female wont take to long to assert dominance and turn.

I would just get one that is smaller, preferably about an inch.
Waiting might gaurantee it turns female, but may also make more territorial, and harder to pair IMO.
Specimen container is safest way to intro.

i second that. i had a single clarkii and used a small clear plastic mouse cage from the pet store. I put a small juvenile clarkii in it and sunk it in the main display tank... after my female went thru her little domination routine, i introduced him into the main tank and had no problems. They now breed every other week on average.
