Male or Female? Solarensis

Sold to me as a female (so it was much cheaper), but it seems to have WAY too much blue on it.

Opinion? (Sorry for picture quality... Got my new cam just a few days ago and still working on the learning curve of a serious upgrade)

That is a female. Males have black behind operculum and a whitish belly.

hope it helps,

PS. I do have a male that I am watching carefully since I read they tend to change colors in the absence of a female. I will see ...

Incorrect ID; this is a Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura. This particular color variant from Indonesia is often called a "Ruby Head Wrasse".

It's a male BTW, as evident by the elongated pelvic fins.

I have a pair of these that I have had for a couple of years. The female is very well behaved. The male is faily well behaved. I added an orange back wrasse, and the male chased it like crazy. The male occassionally goes after the female.

But I have lubbocks, yellow coris, leopards and chaoti that it leaves alone. I also have some tiny angels that it doesn't bother.
