Malu or Sebae Anemone

I won a sebae anemone in a raffle at my local club. It seems to be healthy; except that it is a light tan or off white color. It has eaten at least twice that I know of. It has been in the tank about two days and it looks like it may have found a spot it will stay in. I don't know too much about anemones other than the basics and how to identify healthy ones.

What do I need to know/do to keep this a thriving member of my aquarium? Would I be better off trading for a BTA or less difficult anemone?

Thanks

you'll need to take some pictures and even then it is often difficult to tell the difference. You'll get the best information if you include a shot of his oral disk, a good shot of his tentacles and a shot of his column and the underside of the oral disk.

Just so you know malu and crispa both go by the common name sebae.

don't worry about the light tan color as much with sebaes in my opinion. I have seen healthy specimines that have been in tanks for over a year that are a light tank, then again I have seen nearly brown sebaes as well. I would focus on whether the mouth is staying shut and that the tentacles are nice and sticky. Your Crispa should stick to the rocks once it finds a nice hole to shove into.

The mouth stays tight and the food I put in the tank has been readily caught and eaten. I was more concerned because it seems to have put itself in an odd spot half in a crevice in my rocks half on a rock. And it's a pretty tight squeeze.

Thank You
Ariel
