Managing aggression

I am about to incarcerate about five fish from my 300 gallon tank. I have a big nasty yellow tang, a flame angel, and two anthias - who seem to have picked up a PCP drug habit or something. The flame makes his rounds back and forth across the tank, charging at every fish he sees. The yellow tang also seems to be swimming around looking for a fight. I have a clown that attacks my hand and ****es me off, I have an anthia that has the rest of the anthias hiding in the rocks. It seems like this group of thugs has totally changed the dynamic in the tank.

I am going to pull out the fish trap and banish them to the sump for a few weeks. Once I have restored peace (I hope), the question is... do I let them back in the display tank or give them away. They are all fat, healthy, well established beautiful fish. The yellow tang has been banished two other times for bad behavior... which has worked to stop bullying of other tangs (at least for awhile).

I'll also add a bunch of new rock and change the aquascape.

Tough decision - but it's not even fun to watch the tank at this point.

IME, just putting them in the sump for a couple of weeks didn't help. The best thing that worked for me was to re-arranged the whole tank. This may not be a option for you.

+1 on adding new rock and completely changing the landscape while the thugs are in the jail tank!
