Hello,
I am interested in getting one of these two fish I currently have a 120gal. running for about 8mos. not includeing the cycle I see alot of copepods on my glass at night but I want to make sure I can keep the fish fat and happy. I see alot of people make a fuge with cheto in there sump I have room for this but want to know what i need to set this up if anyone can help or give me some tips for success with these fish I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance
Jeremiah

I think either fish could be ok in your tank as long as you get a healthy one, and assuming you don't have anything in the tank that would be harmful (i.e., aggressive fish that might bully the CBB, carpet anemones that could harm the mandarin, or wrasses that could compete with either for food).

You should take a look at the primers for these fish at the top of this forum.

Can't comment on the Mandarin but I have a Copperband that has done very well. I also have a refugium with chaeto and rock rubble for pod generation. The Copperband did not eat for about 1-2 weeks, then started taking Hikari mysis. After that, I got some PE mysis, and he really went nuts and now feeds quite aggressively. I would highly recommend trying PE mysis if you get one based on my anecdotal experience. I think if you have enough pods to sustain him until getting to eat frozen, you will be successful. One added benefit: after being in the tank a month or so, all aptasia has been exterminated!
