I would like to keep one of these in my 35G Hex tank and would like to know if this fish is difficult to maintain. I have read that they eat copepods. I have a lot of LR in my tank, will I need to suplement other food to keep him alive? Thanks!

you will need atleast 75lbs of LR for them to feed from. Dragonets are hit and miss if they will eat prepaired foods. some will some wont. if you plan on keeping one in a 35g plan on having to feed it. so pick one out at the LFS and ask to see it feed on something prepaired. something like frozen mysis shrimp.

if you could find one that accepts frozen mysis or cyclopleeze that would be great........i would wait till the tank matures about 1 yr or so, do you have a refugium/sump?

Re: Mandarin Dragonet - Green

It depends if he will eat prepared foods.Mine only eats copepods and I have atleast 100lbs of LR.I tried to get him to eat pellets but she won't eat them.I never have to care for her as she eats on her own so I was have to say she is very easy to keep.

Also if you buy one with a really long dorsil fin then its a male and if its short its a female.
