Mandarin Goby question

I got a mandarin goby about 2 weeks ago. It's still in a QT. It's looking kinda thin under the belly. I remember someone telling me that if it's belly looks thin it's probably not eating good.
Here's the question. In my DT I know it has all the copeopods and other things it need to eat and survive. Should i put him in there?

most mandarin fish likely will not eat anything you put in your qt for them. it will starve in there.

im not sure if its normal practice to qt mandarins because of the very problem your facing.

It'll have a better chance in the DT than the QT.

and for future reference the mandarin is not a goby, it is a dragonet
