Mandarin Problem

Hello everyone

I just noticed today that my mandarin has what looks like a small ulceration to the right cheek area. I did not notice it yesterday. It does not seem to be bothering it at all. It is eating like a champ.

I have tried to do a forum search and I could not find anything.

I know that they are resistant to many skin issues related to their slime coat.

Let me know what you guys think

Thanks

If it appeared overnight, probably an injury that should heal on its own. I would just watch for a now.

That was my first thought....... It scraping its face on the side of the rock or something foraging or food..... I will keep an eye on it.

I just wanted to see what other people thought.

Without a picture its hard to say, but if it looks like a wound from an abrasion or bite, then I would agree, just watch it for now. Is the fish behaving normally otherwise? Are any other fish having problems? What other animals share a tank with your mandarin?

This site has some decent photos of various conditions:

Does it look like any of those?
