Mandarin purchase?

Was thinking for some time of purchasing a mandarin and have a question.I have tons and tons of pods. Just wondering if I can introduce it without issue. Here are the fish at present:

yellow tang
coral beauty
2 false percs
6 chromis
1 azure damsel
bicolor blenny

Would it be bothered by any of these fish? I'm assuming not. Thanks

I have a mandarin with a bicolor blenny right now and they are fine together. Had two chromis as well and they were fine with the mandarin too until one got sucked into the overflow and the other died of depression I think

shouldn't have a problem at all. The Mandarin is such a different shape and color, has a different movement, and occupies a different part of the tank than the other fish, that he will not be a threat. The Yellow Tang may investigate him at first, so I would reccomend introducing him with the lights off.

Seems like it will get pulled off without a problem, just when your picking out the fish try and get one that's eating prepared foods at the store. Even though you have a lot of pods it couldn't hurt to get one that eats prepared.

Sorry; I can't tell if you're serious or not....fish dies from depression? Nice kingfish, btw.

hmm. I would think it would be fine, but the damsel might become aggressive after a while. Just make sure there's a ton of LR. Goodluck!

Except that one.

I'm actually glad that the ywg and pistol are gone. Lost the tank to a power outage. The pistol would kill any invert I put in the tank and the YWG was so aggressive he would swim up out of the hole and attack even the flame angel.

Thinking about this more, if something were going to bother a mandarin, it would likely be a territorial bottom dweller.

Why is that Steve? Do you mean indirectly by competing for the same food source or do you mean outright bothering?

Outright intimidation. Although, of course, they both eat copepods, and the vast majority will both eat PE mysis. When trying to anticipate aggression between two species, the place to look first is whether they occupy the same ecological niche.

Interesting, I have two pistol/goby pairs (one of which is a YWG) and neither so much as glance at my spotted mandarin. They have all been in together for over a year now.
